Entry to the program is password protected. The password must be atleast 5 characters and can be up to 20 characters long. The default password is "teacher." The default password is restored each time you create a new GradeBook.
Entry into many areas under the management menu is also password protected. Even if you leave the program running on your computer students won't be able to delete your GradeBookFile, other students, or change your grade scale from within the GradeBook1 program.
For those that aren't concerned about security a new Preference panel allows you turn off the password protection to areas inside the program or turn off password protection altogether.
Track scores for each student in 7 academic areas. Hundreds of students can be tracked once the product registration code has been entered.
GradeBook1 comes with a preset grade scale, but you can easily modify it by choosing GRADE SCALE from the MANAGEMENT menu.
Work is automatically saved as you enter items and make changes. No need to worry about "save early & save often."
Backup is made easy. Simply choose BACKUP from the MANAGEMENT menu, click the BACKUP button, and choose a location to save your backup file to. Remember to backup your file frequently and keep your backups in a safe place!
A handy score calculator, shortcuts keys, a birthday reminder, report maker, student info center with linking to your favorite email program, and a new assignment/test analysis tool is also included in GradeBook1! IMPORTANT!
GradeBook1 version 2 will not open GradeBook1 version 1 GradeBookFiles or vice versa.
The GradeBookFile you want to access must be in the same folder with the GradeBook1 program.
The GradeBookFile must be named exactly "GradeBookFileV2." Don't rename it.
When you create a new GradeBookFile a new blank GradeBookFile with the default password is created in the same folder with the GradeBook1 program. A pre-existing GradeBookFile in this folder will be destroyed when the new one is generated. Make sure you backup your old GradeBookFile before creating a new one!
When a new GradeBookFile is created it has the default password and your registration code must be re-entered to unlock all the features. Don't lose your registration code!
How to Upgrade From Older 2.x Versions of GradeBook1
Please note that you can not use a GradeBook1 version 1.x grade book database file with GradeBook1 version 2.x.
To upgrade:
1) Backup your GradeBookFileV2 grade book database file.
2) copy your existing GradeBookFileV2 into the new GradeBook1 v2.5 folder
3) delete the older GradeBook1 folder
